100 Days of Watercolour - Days 87-93

 Hello All.

May is a crazy month here, so many birthdays! My husband turned 60 today. He's working from home, but we'll cook a special dinner tonight. This weekend we are hosting our families for a joint celebration, as it's my 60th next week.

I'm just about finding time for my 100 days of watercolour for The 100 Day Project.

Here are some more birds.

May Art Journal Calendar

 Hello All.

I have my May art journal calendar to share with you today.

As usual, I like to use the new Art Journal Journey theme, and this month Matilde has given us the theme 'Birds'.

I used a few stencils, for the title, in the background & for the journaling circles, mainly PaperArtsy ones, so I'm also linking up to Try It On Tuesday's 'Use a stencil' challenge.

I used acrylics to paint the birds on white tissue, then glued them to my pages.

Here's my completed April calendar.

Thanks so much for dropping by today.

Wishing you all a happy May.

GJJ Days 25 & 26 - Gratitude For Joy & For Recognition

 Hello All.

Today I'm sharing a couple more of my GJJ pages.

Firstly, Day 25's prompt was Joy. What gave us joy today? I saw a jay on the bird feeder in my garden twice in one morning, and both times it gave me joy, and I ran to tell my hubby. Unfortunately the jay didn't hang around long enough for him to see it too.

On Day 26, Sarah Matthew's prompt was gratitude for recognition. Sarah showed us how to make some foam word stamps, and also 'trash' stamps using the offcuts of foam, but I used some of my hand-carved stamps on my page instead.

Happy Friday to you all, and thanks for visiting.

GJJ Days 23 & 24 - Gratitude For My Surroundings & Gratitude For Birds

 Hello Everyone.

Happy Advent to you all! I've started an Advent art journal that I'll share in a few days, but I still have a few pages for Gratitude Junk Journal to show you. I'm going to double up on the pages now.

I think you all know by now that I love the outdoors and all kinds of wildlife, especially birds.

Here's my Day 23 page, which reflects the lovely countryside and wildlife where we live, that I'm so grateful for.

I spotted a YouTube tutorial by Shawn Petite, and used that as inspiration to create this page.

On Day 24, Amanda Fall's prompt was gratitude for birds.

I've always loved a quirky Puffin! Those beaks are so striking against their black and white plumage. One of my best holidays was in the north east of England, when we got a boat out to The National Trust's Farne Islands and saw Puffins and lots of other wonderful sea birds and seals. I used images from an old NT magazine for this page.

Wishing you a happy new month.

Thanks for visiting.

Daisy Yellow Art's ICAD Challenge - The Final Few

Hello All.

Today I have the final few ICAD's to share with you.

57/61 - Guillemot.

 58/61 - Razorbill.

59/61 - Starling.

60/61 - Collared Dove.

61/61 - European Robin.

I'm sad to see this series come to its end. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my birds. I finished with three of our regular visitors, the noisy, greedy Starling, the pretty Collared Dove, and the cheeky little European Robin.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Thanks so much for your visits and lovely comments on my ICAD art,

Daisy Yellow Arts ICAD Challenge - Week 7

Hi Everyone! I'm back today with this week's little 6x4" index card collages.

43/61 - Jackdaw. I love these little corvids, we often have one or two on our bird feeder.

44/61 - Jay. Another favourite. I love that flash of blue.

45/61 - Tawny Owl. Who doesn't love an owl?! Tawnys are so beautiful.

46/61 - Coot. We see these on our morning walks, usually with 2 or 3 young at the moment.

47/61 - Pochard Ducks. I don't know if I've ever seen one of these. They are winter visitors to the UK.

48/61 - Song Thrush. Occasionally hear these from our garden, they have a lovely song.

49/61 - Kentish Plover. Pretty little birds, not sure if I've ever seen one of these.

That's all for this week. I hope you've enjoyed seeing these little bird-themed collages today.

Thanks for visiting,
