AJJ - Spring

Hello All.

It's been a cold and busy Saturday here. We decided we would start leaving the heating off during the day, to use less of Russia's gas, to stand up to Putin. We're going to try and use the car less too, walk if possible, as fuel is now an extortionate price. It was busy because I've cleaned out both Elliott the guinea pig's and Josie the tortoise's homes. That kept me a bit warm 😁

I've been in my art room too, creating a page for Valerie's Spring theme at Art Journal Journey.

I used some of my watercolour collage fodder, that I've been creating for The 100 Day Project. The blue and green circles at the top represent some of the different types of weather we can get in Spring, hail, snow, rain, and of course the rainbow and flowers are spring-like too, with sunny colours. Hopefully it will warm up a bit soon.

I hope you're having a good weekend.

Thanks for visiting,

Alison

  5. I love this abstract collage you created for Valerie's theme, Alison. I agree that so many different weather patterns can happen in spring. This is wonderful.

I only run my gas heater when the temps are below ZERO F overnight. I had to turn it on twice this last month, but that is it. I have an electric heater I use when I bathe, but not when I use the toilet. I have another electric heater I use in my craft room, but I haven't been in there in a couple of weeks. I have 8 windows around my office and my computer puts out heat, too. I've used a heater there a couple of times, but for the most part, I just dress very, very warm. I applaud you giving up heat to punish Putin. If only the rest of the world would do the same.

  6. Gad prices are crazy here too. Most of our oil does not come from Russia, but because the world is so interconnected, prices go up. I am loving you page today. It is perfect for Valerie's challenge, and making art is a good way to work through the cold and these troubles-at least help while in the art making sphere. If this makes sense. Thanks for sharing with us at AJJ, and I hope your weather warms up. Hope ours does too. hugs-Erika

  8. I love this art. You are so talented. We too have cut out all trips. Gas here in my town is $4.50 a gal. We have to make a trip to Salem once a month so we are saving gas for that. Have good day today.
