July Art Journal Calendar

 Hi Everyone.

Here is my July art journal calendar spread. It has a Summer Countryside feel for Alison Bomber's theme at Art Journal Journey.

I used some cut up gel prints for the background, and stencilled the daisies using a hand cut stencil.

Hope you're all having a good day, thanks for popping by,

52 Weeks Art Journal - Week 26 - Halfway Mash Up

 Hi Everyone.

We're halfway through the year, unbelievable though it seems, and this week Michelle/Raspberry Blue Sky has asked us to pick 2 or more of our favourite prompts to date, and create a mash up page. I chose week 19's Favourite colour, week 20's wild and free, and week 21's Face.

My lady is wild and free with butterflies in her hair, so I'm linking one last time to Mia's Butterflies theme at Art Journal Journey.

52 Weeks Art Journal - Week 25 - Summer

 Hello everyone.

This week Raspberry Blue Sky has chosen Summer as her art journal theme. Here is my page. I'm linking up to Mia's Butterfly theme at Art Journal Journey and Try It On Tuesday's Here Comes Summer theme.

I used some teabags for my background, swiped some turquoise acrylic paint over it, then added some pen scribbles using my left hand.

The art doll was created using a tutorial by Megan Whisner Quinlan, from a free collage fodder course by Willa Wanders Workshops. I cut out some butterflies and flowers from the same piece of collage.

Here are the 3 art dolls I created for the course, using stamps by Dina Wakley, pieces of collage, some of my handmade washi tapes, paint pens, and some decorative trim and gems.

Hope you having a happy and healthy week.

Daisy Yellow's Index Card A Day - Week 3

Hello All.

Thanks again for the helpful advice and good wishes for my tooth and elbow. My mouth is a bit less sore thankfully, so hoping it's settling down. I'm resting my arm as much as I can, not easy. Thankfully Hubby's on hand to help.

Here are my ICADs for week 3 of Daisy Yellow's challenge.

15/61 - Long-tailed Tit

16/61 - Pied Wagtail

17/61 - Mallard

18/61 - Greenfinch

19/61 - Blue-headed Wagtail

20/61 - Chaffinch

21/61 - Grey Heron

Some of these birds we see quite regularly, the chaffinch visits our garden most of the year, and the heron, mallard and pied wagtail we see on our walks upon the golf course. Sadly the greenfinch has declined in numbers here in the UK, I haven't seen one for many years. The long-tailed tits visit very occasionally, it's always a thrill to spot those. And I don't think I've ever seen a blue-headed wagtail.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you're enjoying my series of bird-themed collages.

52 Weeks Art Journal - Week 24 - Postcard

 Hello All.

Thanks for your lovely comments on yesterday's post. I've a bit of a toothache today, I don't know whether that's normal after root canal. To be honest, the dentist was wearing full PPE, he looked like an astronaut, and I could barely understand what he said to me. I'll call them Monday if it persists though.

Elizabeth, I'm wearing a wrist support, and using my left hand to type as much as I can. I read that tennis elbow can take from 6 months to a year to heal. Very depressing!

I'm still managing a bit of art every day though, and today I have this week's page for Raspberry Blue Sky's 52WeeksArtJournal to share with you. The theme is Postcard.

I made a background with lots of round used teabags, then swiped a black ink pad over it and around the edges.

I used some gel prints to collage a 6x4" index card, then stamped some images by Sara Naumann for PaperArtsy. I added some gel print circles, stamped with Crafty Individuals butterflies. I think it looks like my postcard is being held in place by butterfly magnets.

I'm linking my page to Mia's Butterfly theme at Art Journal Journey.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Thanks for dropping by,

Art Reboot - Part Two

Hi Everyone!

Thank goodness it's Friday! I've had quite the week.

A doctor's appointment on Tuesday, to get my elbow and a small mole on my neck checked out. Photos of the mole are being sent to dermatology to be checked out (faster than trying to get an appointment!), and it turns out I have tennis elbow, or crochet elbow in my case I think. No crochet for me for the foreseeable future 😔

I had my eye check up on Wednesday, three new pairs of glasses. Not too expensive, but bad enough.

Then yesterday, I went to get a toothache checked out by the dentist, and ended up with having a root canal. So I'm on the paracetamol now, and hoping it'll settle down soon.

Anyway, I'm sure you're wondering where my Art Reboot pages are, so here we go.

Day 4 - Add some simple geometric shapes to the page.

I added some stamped and cut out butterflies for Mia's Butterfly theme at Art Journal Journey. I couldn't resist a few paint splatters too.

Day 5 - For the final day, we were told to go for a walk and collect some things from nature to put on a page. I picked a few wild flowers on our early morning walk on the golf course, and created a petal mandala on a painted background. I added some teabag papers around the edges, and finished with some journaling.

Thanks for bearing with me as I poured out my troubles! Hope you have a good weekend.
