Hi Everyone.
I've found another Instagram challenge, to keep me arting after ICAD finished. Rachel Greig's Artful August Challenge has daily prompts, but you can choose what you want to make. I'm going to try and do daily 15 minute art journal pages. I quite like the time limit, and it means I can create something even when I don't have a lot of time. I've also created a junk journal just for the challenge, using a cardboard packaging cover, adding my pages with pamphlet stitch.
Rachel's prompt for Day 1 is Leaves. Here's my 15 minute page. I used collage, acrylic paint, black india ink, Stabilo Woodys, and book page text.
I'm linking my page to Neet's Type theme at Art Journal Journey.
Before I go, here are photos of my complete set of ICADs for Daisy Yellow's 2021 challenge.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you have a happy August and new week.

ReplyDeleteWow, those icads are amazing! Welldone you on making so many.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have created the cover for your August journal - parts of it remind me of a wall and it seems so appropriate for the cover.
Thanks for joining in with AJJ and my theme - a lovely page with leaves and text.
Hugs, Neet xx

Sounds like fun to do the August challenge AND give yourself the addition challenge of 15 minutes. I do like your leaves and all the words talking in the background and the way you are making the journal for the challenge pages.
ReplyDeleteI also loved seeing all your bird Icads on Insta.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't even get the background you created down in 15 minutes, much less paint the background before I ever started the leaves. You must be a super star, dear Alison. Thanks for sharing this beautiful first entry with us for Art Journal Journey this month using Neet's theme.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I am in awe of all your ICADs. So many birds, some I'd never heard of before.
Fab ICADs, Alison. A lovely collection. The 15 art journal page has me totally amazed. I can't even imagine what a page would look like for me in 15 minutes. I think I am going to try it though.
ReplyDeleteLove your leaves and the colors. Perfect type for the AJJ challenge as well. Wow!
Wow, what an accomplishment - all those ICADs look so beautiful together 😁. Your journal and page look fabulous too, loving the foliage and using the book page wording is perfect for AJJ too! Thanks for the inspiration and I hope that you're having a lovely week! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteYour 15 minute pages always amaze me! I like this page so much with your bold painting and the delicacy of text going every which way.
ReplyDeleteSo much goodness in one post! I am loving your Artful August so much!!! Hugs, AUtumn
ReplyDeleteOh what eye candy! You're an art machine! xoxo
ReplyDeleteA fabulous start to the challenge! I did think of setting myself a time limit too but I probably wouldn't stick to it and depending on what I have around some may take less than 15 minutes!
ReplyDeleteYour ICADs have been fabulous and it's great to see them all here! Hugs, Chrisx
A fabulous piece and in just 15 minutes Wow and thank you for linking up to Neet's theme over at AJJ.
