Hi Everyone!
Let me start by showing you the new Guinea pigs...
That's Angus in the foreground, his 'mini-me' Hamish top right, and Fergus is just peeping out on the left. The cage is bigger than it looks, but I'm thinking of getting a larger enclosure. Just need to clear some more space in my craft room!
Here's a better pic of Fergus. He has a cute little white quiff.
And here is another art journal spread, inspired by Susi's recent art, for my Geometric Shapes theme at Art Journal Journey. I'm also entering it in Moo-Mania & More's Square Challenge.
My craft friend Hazel, who some of you may know from Hazel's Creative Moments, came over for a wonderful arty session, catch up, and lunch yesterday. We both played in our art journals. I got messy with paint, collage, PaperArtsy stamps, and mark-making.
I also did some scribble writing with Bombay India Ink and my new glass dip pen. Teabags got in the page too, of course, both underneath and on top!
Happy Thursday,
Alison xox
How cute! Great page too
ReplyDeleteLove the pages you made, so much wonderful texture and style. Glad you had a fun day with Hazel! Your guinea pigs are lovely, and Fergus has a great hairdo! Have a nice day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteAren't they cute and lovely! Such pretty boys! And I am in love with the amazing spread - great ideas and techniques on these pages dear Alison! You always get me with your stylish mark making and free artsy techniques!
ReplyDeleteThis Everything Art stamp set is really one of my favourités - I love Kasia's stamp sets a lot.
Thank you for showing the new boys and thank you for another beautiful spread for your theme!

I love your guinea pigs. We had a 3'x4' enclosure for ours, and it took up so much space! But you're right that they need more room than the 10-gallon aquariums you sometimes see them in. And company. They like friends :) I'm sure they're happy with the 3 of them together.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your close-up. It helps me to see how you get such good layering and depth without it ever looking like too much.
Great to see your guinea pigs and your squares AJJ piece which is quite complex. It's lovely to have an arty session with an artist friend as you inspire each other on.
ReplyDeleteYour guinea pigs look so adorable and content, great photos.
ReplyDeleteThe journal spread looks fabulous super textures and stamps you used.
It sounds like you had an enjoyable day with Hazel.

I can see there being lots of adventure taking place with your Guinea Trio, I love Fergus's little quiff hee hee!! They will have so much creativity to look at and explore within your creative space.
ReplyDeleteI love what you have created in your journal today, look at all those layers. Wish I had found extra time to play along this month, it's a smashing theme.
Have a super weekend, warmest of Hugs Tracey xx
P.S Sending cuddles to the Trio too :))
These pigs are so adorable and your page is very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at MOO MANIA & MORE
Have a wonderful weekend
Those guinea pigs are cute. I bet Angus loves having company. And your journal page is amazing. The burlap really added some super texture. I love all there is to see on this page. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh my, aren't those guinea pigs adorable! Fergus and his white quiff made me smile, I bet Angus is pleased to have some new friends 😁. Is he making happy sounds with them yet? I'm loving your pages too, wow, the amount of texture you created is absolutely amazing! It looks like you had a wonderful crafty time with your friend 😁. Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to meet the guinea pigs - I hope they're well-behaved while you're crafting! Gorgeous page spread - I love the stamping on kraft, the perfect sepia look for the photos, and the great textures from the teabags, hessian and cheesecloth. Interested in the glass dipping pen too - I have a couple of normal wooden ones with metal nibs, but glass sounds very cool.

So sweet your animal friends. Your wild mix of textures, stencil motifs and decoration elements looks amazing. It must have been funny to create this.
ReplyDeleteIt is fine to be creative together with friends. One can inspire the other.
Dear Greetings

Your double page is stunning - so many textures and details - they all together make a fantastic mixed media artwork!

ReplyDeleteFantastic artwork.
ReplyDeleteI'm a dufus. I was here earlier, read your post, oohed and awed over the new guinea pigs, and fell in love with the beautiful art you created. However, I failed to leave you a comment.
ReplyDeleteI was really, really impressed with your incredible spread for AJJ. It is gorgeous and feels so old fashioned, yet modern at the same time. It's that juxtaposition that drew me in. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, dear.
Thank you for a great day Alison, your spread is fabulous and it was lovely to meet the critters.
