Morning All! Today's page in my gelli-print journal was inspired by another YouTube video I watched, where the artist began by gluing down some teabag papers. Then 'The Flow' took over, and my page took a totally different direction to hers!
I added some torn tea-dyed book page strips and scraps, some hand-cut circles for the flower heads, then the doodling began with my paint pens. You can just see the doodles on the flower heads, that I decided were too much, and painted over with Bougainvillea Fresco acrylic. The page needed some boldness!
I'm linking up to Gill's 'Inspired By' Challenge at Art Journal Journey.
Happy Friday!

And you gave the exact amount of boldness here - and all the marks and layers make one happy! A delightful page Alison! Thank you so very much for just another gorgeous page linked to this month's theme at AJJ!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend my friend!
Hugs, Susi
Hi - so sorry I've been missing so much... I really hope to do some proper catching up soon. I love the book text flower stems and fabulous doodling bringing this tiny garden to life - a treat!

Lovely happy page Alison - love that colour and all the fabulous doodling and great background.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all the fabulous pages you linked for this theme at AJJ this month :)
Happy Friday and keep cool - feels like it might be hotter than yesterday and less breezy.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Your page is lovely Alison! I love how a piece starts taking on it's own path as we create. It's such fun to see where it ends up. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt was completely bold, and now you have inspired me to drink a cup of tea so I have at least ONE tea bag to work with in my art. A simply breathtaking beauty that is moving. So glad you shared it with us at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about art is how you can start with a technique another artist is showing and then end up in a totally different place that makes it all your own. This is a fun page Alison. I love the pink. Have a great weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteFabulous page! The Bougainvillea paint really makes those flowers zing 😁. I hope your hubby is enjoying his new job and that you've been enjoying the summer weather too. Have a great day and happy weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous page Alison.
